Any given page from a website is made up of several ingredients, these ingredients include:
- HTML content (the actual markup and text on the page)
- CSS content (how to style the html, eg fonts, colours etc)
- Javascript
- Images
- Video
The combined size of all these ingredients is called the Page Weight, or Page Size. Page Weight is an important figure to track and try to minimise for the simple reason that the smaller your Page Weight then the faster it will load. The faster a page loads then the fewer bounces, more page views, and more conversions your website will get.
